As HEARD - Monday 2.18.08
We did it! Over 120 miles in two days, our Bike Ride for the Homeless was an inspiring victory. Here's why: great weather, nearly 80 cyclists, almost $30,000 raised for homeless shelters, a major Joy FM artist's involvement and loads of support from the community. And there were stories, some ironic, some motivational, all worth telling.
- Meet this girl! Great-grandmother Gretchen Platt inspired many with her commitment to ride, and she raised the most money of anyone for this event.
- Carmen will remember Gretchen from the scrape on her knee. Listen to Gretchen react to one of Carmen's falls.
- Speaking of Carmen's "Lucy Moments," Hear what happened to Carmen's first safety helmet (and thank God she's able to be here to tell us about it!).
- This caller remembered to pray, and Carmen is thankful.
Here are more inspiring stories from some of our cyclists:
- Listen to why Noma, on the operating table last September, wanted to ride over 120 miles in February.
- He flew hundreds of miles to be here: hear Jim tell us where he came from and why.
- A local school administration got their whole elementary school involved: Listen to the principal, Mike, and assistant principal, Haley during the first day's ride.
