Honduras 2013. Day 1

Hola!

It’s after midnight my body clock time, and I’m ’bout to fall in bed, but I wanted to post a few pics from today! The orphanage we visited today was a private orphanage that cares for children who are HIV+ or have AIDS. I was so happy to see three smiling faces that I recognized from the last time I was here!! One of them is Dania. I don’t have a picture of her on my camera, but I’ll try and grab one from another team member tomorrow. It made my day that she remembered me too! She’s as beautiful as ever, and was all dressed in pink. The team from 2011 will remember Denzel, too! He’s still here, and as cute as ever!! ¬†Internet is more of a challenge this visit, but hopefully we’ll find some “hotspots.”

Tomorrow we’re visiting the orphanage where Baby Carmen was. Luis said we’d see about 90 children tomorrow. Definitely keep us in your prayers tomorrow!! We do feel them when you pray! THANK YOU!

I love you!

    Hi Carmen,
Just wanted to say that you guys are in my prayers. So excited for you that you get to share this experience with your daughter. In 2011 Valerie was with me and that trip created a special kind of bond between us. Remember that God loves those precious children more than we ever could. Be strong tomorrow, I know it was one of the most difficult visits. Hugs for the whole team!

I didn’t know that Abbey was going with you. So wonderful for both of you. When I first started going on mission trips to do vacation bible schools, my grand daughter was to young. She always wanted to go with me and PaPa, now that she is 14, has moved away and I haven’t been back. It is time I started going on more mission trips so she can experience what Abbey is experiencing right now. I am praying that all goes well for everyone on the trip. Loving on the kids is what it is all about. Thank you and the rest of the team for all that you do. I love you, Cheron from Sebring

Oh, I remember this one in particular. We had the cutest boy in our group, Maria, that was so full of energy and made us play ball with him the whole story and craft time! And yes, I do remember Dania…. so precious! Praying for you all daily. If you see my buddies – Jahir from the boy’s home, Genesis from the school, Cindy from the first girl’s home, give them lots of love from me :) Forever etched in my heart!
