Episode 14: Pete & Carmen's Story
Today is mine & Pete’s 30th Anniversary. If there’s anything I’ve learned in thirty years, it is this: Marriage does not “fix” you. Marriage does not heal you. Nope, marriage does not fix your problems. It reveals them. Whenever two broken people join together to become one, you simply double the brokenness. When I tell you that our marriage is a miracle, I mean OUR MARRIAGE IS A MIRACLE. The fact that we’re still standing – happier than we’ve ever been – THIRTY years later, is simply the result of the grace, mercy & kindness of God. The last thing I would say is “There is always, always, always HOPE!”

I enjoyed your story so much it shows what God can do even if we don t but He has a plan and we can look back and see what he can do if we trust Him . Praise Jesus

Thank you for being so transparent with us. I think as a married couple of 34 years I can say we all have (if we are honest) had our moments but if we turn to and trust God he will work it out.

I'm on an Off Air w/ Carmen marathon !!! 55 minutes of thought provoking, transparency. With your scenario, many would say it was disaster designed but your story was about looking up and allowing God's light to highlight all that was and is good. My Christian parents divorced after 32 years of marriage shaking my foundation. I keep thinking of your legacy - that your daughters know the trials and witnessed how to handle adversity. While many use divorce as the solution you all have prevailed against the norm. What a powerful gift you've given to your girls !
