Parts Counter Person

Description:
• Assist Service Technicians in selecting parts needed for repairs in process. • Order parts not in stock if, after discussion with ASM, it is determined that parts are needed and will be used upon receipt or that the customer will return for the required repairs. • Notify the ASM and the customer that ordered parts have been received. • Answer parts phones when front counter is overloaded. • Ensure that before parts can be charged out, the Technician presents a duplicate copy of the repair order. • Help train new employees • Count, weigh, or measure items in incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading invoices, orders, and other records. • Affix labels on packed cartons. • Insert items into containers, using spacers, fillers, and protective padding. • Stamp, stencil, or glue identifying information and shipping instructions onto containers • Assemble wooden or cardboard containers, or select preassembles containers. • Post weights and shipping charges, and affix postage. • Unpack and examine incoming shipments, note damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with shipper to rectify damages and shortages. • Ensure that outgoing shipments meet specifications. • Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies. • Operate tier-lift truck or use hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping-and­ receiving platform to storage or work area. • Direct others in preparing outgoing and receiving incoming shipments. • Receive damaged or defective goods returned to establishment and be designated Returned Goods, Receiving Clerk. • Receive unsold products returned by Parts Driver. • Keep Parts Manager informed of all problems and potential problems involving repairs, customers, and equipment • Maintain individual workstation in an organized, neat and efficient manner. • Keep open lines of communication with other personnel. • Perform other duties as required by management.

Qualifications:
Must have a minimum of 3 years experience as auto parts counter person
