Assistant Meal Site Manager

Description:
The Assistant Meal Site Manager helps to oversee the Meals on Wheels program at Aiken Senior Life Services’ dining room. The Assistant Manager is responsible for helping provide an efficient, enjoyable and safe Senior Nutrition site to include proper food handling and sanitation, care of the site’s facilities during program hours, and overseeing the packaging of homebound meals. Performs related duties as required. Performs necessary on-site food preparation, apportions food into containers according to portion control procedures, and packages containers for transit. Directs volunteers in the set-up, presentation, serving/packing. Makes sure each volunteer receives the correct Home Delivered Meal (HDM) route sheet with their meals. Performs light janitorial work, as needed – washing pans, disinfecting counters, sweeping. Develops rapport with program participants and volunteers and promotes a friendly atmosphere. Enforces sanitation rules and regulations according to State policies. Attends training sessions and staff meetings, as required. This is a part-time position. Typical work hours are 7:30 – 12:00pm Monday-Friday. $13/hour

Qualifications:
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); TRAINING/EXPERIENCE: Great interpersonal skills; basic math and grammar skills; a valid SC driver’s license and a reliable vehicle. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Stand, walk short and long distances inside and outside the facility, stoops, reaches, lifts, and carries up to 30 lbs. throughout the workday; may be required to drive vehicle for delivery of meals if volunteer calls out; ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
