Redwoods

I'm Michelle, I just want to invite you to take a little time and pray together with me. Have you ever seen the redwoods? They are amazing. There are some of the biggest trees up to 300 feet tall. They're so big around that my husband and I and all six of our children tried to reach around one of the trunks and we couldn't get our arms around it. Amazing and yet the pine cones of these trees are about the size of a dime, and there can be like 200 seeds in that little pine cone. And the other interesting thing about the redwoods was listening to the Park Ranger talk about it is that they're able to withstand storms and wind and rain because they have a key in their root system. It's not that their roots go down so deep, but they're intertwined. They're wrapped around each other.

And I just want to encourage you. We're living in a time where there's so much controversy and so much disunity. The Bible reminds us in that place of unity, God brings a blessing. And so his people, his sons and daughters. Now we're all different parts of the body, right? And I might be a big toe or a mouth or whatever.

I don't know what you are, but we. Need each other. We really do. And so guard your heart from disunity, the strength of those trees is the fact that their root system wraps around one another and they help water. Remember, we're called to encourage one another in this hour, and the Bible tells us cast all your cares, all of your anxieties, all of your worries, all of your concerns once and for all on him on Jesus. One translation says, cast all your cares before they fasten their grip on you. On him, for he cares about you, a deepest affection, and he watches over you very carefully. You can trust him today.
