Remembering Rob Dempsey

Rob Dempsey, His Radio Station Manager and co-host of Rob and Lizz in the Morning, went to be with Jesus on Wednesday evening, October 23rd.

In addition to Rob’s family, the His Radio Network and RTN family of stations, industry peers, Christian artists, and hundreds of thousands of people who’ve been impacted by listening to Rob, are heartbroken by this loss.  We will all miss him more than words can say.

Rob has been with RTN for 35 years, spending the first 10 years with The JOY FM in Florida and the last 25 at His Radio in Greenville, SC. Rob suffered a brief illness and passed away from cardiac arrest. He leaves behind his wife Amy and four children: Wes (Brittany), Amanda (Brad), Spencer (Grace), Elijah and two grandchildren, Jackson and Grace.

Rob had more than just a talent for radio. He had a passion for pointing people to Jesus. He shared his faith on air and through every aspect of his life.  He was a leader, mentor, encourager, worship leader, innovator, problem-solver, husband, father, brother, and friend. He used his life story to share his faith in God. He loved Christian radio because he was transformed by it. He went from being a homeless teen to finding a new life in Christ through a broken radio found in a dumpster. He used his experiences - weight loss, competitive cycling, running, health challenges, being a foster family, and adoption - to give Glory to God.  He reminded us often that “God is good!” and “Jesus is real.” We can’t begin to count the number of people who have been impacted and changed as a result of his steadfast faithfulness.

If you’d like to honor Rob’s memory by supporting the ministry he loved and dedicated his life to serving, you can click here.  We’ll make sure your kind words and a report of the gifts given will be shared with Rob’s family.

I will miss you my friend. God brings people into our lives in different ways. Coaching Wes in baseball, who would have ever known HE used that using you to bring me in a much deeper relationship with Jesus. When you all left my house early in the morning for your journal to HIS radio, I was so broken hearted I didn’t get to say good-bye. You were like a brother to me- Thank you. You made this world a brighter place. Amy, Dempsey family , if there is anything we can do please do not hesitate.

Rob, I didn't know you, but heard your lovely voice the day you passed on JOY FM as they played your testimony. I cried as I heard how low you thought of yourself until you found God's love and learned to love yourself through HIS eyes. Thank GOD you did, because as I see these pictures of your beautiful family and all the lives you have touched since you became a "radio minister," God's plan for your life was way bigger than you ever could imagine. Now, as you surround yourself with Angels and your spirit rests with the peace and the joy of heaven, I pray that your family and loved ones are filled with the knowledge that you truly are in a greater, better place where no pain could ever reach you, and may their earthly pain be but for a moment, alleviated by the Holy Spirit's comfort straight from Jesus. I pray this in my Savior's Name, AMEN!

Both my mom and dad fell asleep in Christ within the last 2 1/2 years, as someone in the family said to me it’s never easy, but it does get easier.
I’m glad for the assurance in scripture in John chapter 11 in the conversation between Jesus and Lazarus sister “I know that he will rise again, in the resurrection AT THE LAST DAY…” And they assurances in first Thessalonians chapter 4 and first Corinthians 15 period. We know that in Timothy it says God alone has immortality… Until the second Coming when Jesus bestows immortality On the saved.
Well, our hearts ache for the temporary separation, we know that we will see them again when there is no more sorrow or pain or sickness or death ????????
