When unjust governments control, as they did during the Cold War in Eastern Europe, Christians learn to fight with spiritual weapons (Eph. 6:12). And when spiritual battles are won, justice and freedom follow. Our battle isn’t ultimately in the political sphere. Since Christ won the war on the cross, we fight spiritual battles on our knees.

• Pray against evil spiritual powers.

• Pray the victory of the cross to demolish spiritual enemies and secure justice and freedom.

God, you are great, and you do wondrous things. You are more powerful than any evil. Wherever evil has a stronghold in our politics or government, we declare its downfall by the power of Christ’s cross and resurrection! Amen.
