Do you feel surrounded? Unbelief is everywhere, it seems, from our schools, to entertainment and media, to institutions of power and influence. Paul’s request for prayer isn’t to call out those who are struggling with faith or having doubts. It is to pray against the influence of those who are committed to a worldview that denies the reality of God and his truth, who oppose the gospel and its good, who actively recruit others to a God-denying lifestyle.

• Pray against those whose influence denies God and his gospel.

• Pray for the gospel to penetrate unbelieving hearts and hard heads.

Lord, let your word be honored! Let hardened hearts and minds be opened to your truth. Let the gospel of your grace silence unbelief. Let it penetrate even the hardened walls of media organizations and influential institutions. Let evil be vanquished by your good grace, through Jesus our Savior, Amen.
