I'm Sandy, and I want to share something with you.

During these difficult times, it's easy to lose hope.  Sometimes difficult seasons cause us to lose confidence in ourselves and in God. 

But, no matter how we might "feel,", God sees you and I as courageous and brave warriors! Despite what our "feelings" might say, God knows we are capable of overcoming difficulties, and helping others to do the same.

A long time ago, in the Bible, there was a young man named Gideon.  Gideon didn't have a lot of self-confidence, and he was fairly discouraged.  He thought things would always stay the same, and he didn't feel empowered to make any changes to his life situation. 

One day, an Angel of the Lord visited Gideon.  Gideon was actually hiding.  But the angel said, "Greetings, oh Mighty, courageous Warrior!"

As you can imagine, Gideon looked around and said, "Are you talking to me??"

Then, the Angel told Gideon he'd been chosen to free God's people from the oppression of their enemies.  Gideon would lead a mighty fight for freedom.

Gideon's first response was to say, "I can't lead God's people to freedom!  I'm from the weakest clan, and I'm the smallest guy in my family!"

But, the Lord answered, "I will be with you!"

Gideon decided to trust and obey God.  He did eventually lead God's people out of oppression. He rose up to the occasion, displayed great courage and inspired others with his leadership.

There's a lesson in here for all of us!

Whatever you are facing, however you might "feel" right now, remember that God sees you as a courageous, mighty person.  You are capable of great things!  You ARE able to overcome, and lead others to freedom, too!  They key is to ask The Lord to fight with you and for you!  Together, you and God can overcome any obstacle!
